FAQs
-
Purchase Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite on Steam. DLC costume purchases are not necessary but do have added content in MVCIB if you own them.
Download the MVCI Beyond 1.0.zip from one of the links above.
Unzip the file somewhere on your computer that has at least 8GB of free space. You can use the built-in Windows unzipping tool, or your favorite archiver software (such as the fully free and open source program 7zip). Do not rearrange any of the files or folders inside.
Open Steam, browse to Library > Collections. Right-click on Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite installation, and select Manage > Browse local files.
Copy the "MVCI" folder extracted from the MVCI Beyond 1.0.zip. Paste/drag the downloaded MVCI folder into the Steam install folder (Steam\steamapps\common\MARVEL VS. CAPCOM INFINITE) . Windows will merge the MVCI folder with the one that is already there. Replace any files your system prompts you for.
Open MVCI from your Steam Library or any shortcut and enjoy!

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite & Beyond features three brand-new offline-only multiplayer modes, listed below with their activation keys.
Cross Frenzy (F1): Frenetic four-player versus (or two-player co-op) with simultaneous 2v2 gameplay.
Single Cross Frenzy (F2): Control two characters at the same time with one controller. Single-player only, try this out in Story Mode & Arcade Mode!
Cross Fever (F3): Traditional MVCI gameplay with a twist - each character is controlled by a single player!
These modes must be activated by pressing their respective key on the main menu. To change or deactivate new modes, you must close and relaunch the game.
In four-player modes, players will be selected by order of input activation - P1 plugs in first and presses any button, P2 plugs in second and presses any button, and so on. Teams will be defined as P1 + P3 vs. P2 + P4. Players 3 + 4 are currently limited to default controller inputs only.
Ironically, having Controller Select On in the Settings > System menu will break these modes, so please ensure it is turned off.
-
Yes! Both modes are playable. Story Mode has not been fully optimized visually, so character models and cutscenes may look different than expected in certain situations.
-
Yes. The visual mod and balance changes work online. However, if you battle someone who is not on the same balance changes, the game will disconnect and send you back to lobby. The visual changes have no effect on online play. New tag-team modes are not compatible with online play.
-
A number of community-tested balance changes have been applied to Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite & Beyond. These balance changes can be used online, but only with other players that are using them. Be advised that using these balance updates in online matchmaking-based modes may result in an inconsistent player experience.
